Access to HE Anatomy & Physiology
The last edition was my primary resource for Access to HE Anatomy and Physiology, which is a part of the Health Professionals pathway. It is my recommended text and I have ordered copies of the first edition in the library. This edition is even better. I especially like the 'test yourself' vocabulary at the end of each chapter as the major stumbling block to success in Anatomy is getting to grips with the terminology and the inclusion of this feature is especially helpful in consolidationg understanding.

This resource is rapidly becoming the text of choice for Anatomy and Physiology at level three. It is suitable for A level, Access to HE, B tech and IBacc. It is comprehensive and provides relevant, in depth, up to date  information that is well  and appropriately illustrated. The student workbook format enables students to acquire not just a sound knowledge base but the understanding necessary for students to progress successfully into a health professionals career. The information has been reviewed in the second edition in line with the latest innovations and it makes this an interesting and valuable text.

BTEC Level 3 Applied Science
Perfect for the BTEC level 3 Applied Science qualification with "flipped learning" activities to strengthen students' comprehension and independent learning. The lymphatic system activity is pitched at the right level as there is not enough content in A level revision guides or too much in the old textbooks or web. There are a variety of question types and matching activities. It could also be used for Access courses for adults wishing to embark on health careers. Every FE College should get it.

The simple layout with content followed by activity and a variety of question types enhances students learning without watering the content down and thus preparing students for the kind of language used at higher education. The images are clear with only two colours.
